April Q. Russell was born in Chattanooga and began her on-air reporting at the tender age of eight years old when she began working as a Kid's News Reporter at a local ABC affiliate station.
April is an actress, producer, creative director and author. Based and professionally trained in LA, April has recently expanded to Atlanta to be closer to her hometown and family.
April has appeared in numerous independent films and television shows and for her stand-out performances, she received the "Rising Star Award" at the International Modeling & Talent Association (IMTA) convention in New York City.
April graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Mass Communications and Psychology. It was there she expanded her love for all things media to work as a local radio personality and hosting events throughout her city.
April graduated from the Los Angeles African American Public Policy Institute. She received accolades for her participation from Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Karen Bass, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and California State Senator Current Price. In addition to her love for entertainment and media April is a fierce social activist who cares deeply about women and the under-served youth of America.
She is currently a volunteer for Hunter Memorial Foundation, a non profit who believe that being kind is an art form that is cultivated by acts of giving and by service to the local community and beyond- Actress

Born in Tulsa, Ok. April did all types of writing from a very early age but it's when she saw Star Wars at the age of 6 that the acting bug bit. She knew she was bound for character work when she was cast as Gandalf in her high school production of "The Hobbit." In college she was introduced to various acting techniques but found herself drawn to Meisner. Later she studied acting and the Sanford Meisner Technique at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio in Los Angeles (EMAS.) She also studied improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade. She's worked as an actor, producer and 1st AD on various short and feature films. She's also performed in local theatre. In Theatre Tulsa's production of "Jekyll & Hyde" April performed 7 different roles, 5 of which were men, including Hyde #4 and Poole the butler. April is signed with Magna Talent and is repped by Michelle Swink.- April Smith-Russell is known for Penny for the Guy (2015).
